Iran Chamber of Commerce ready to expand economic engagements with Saudi Arabia

President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei said the ICCIMA is fully prepared to promote economic and commercial engagements between Iranian and Saudi private sector actors.

In a letter to his Saudi counterpart Hassan Al-Huwazi, Shafei said, “it is my pleasure to see the recent improvements in political interactions between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the two influential Islamic countries in the region.”

“I hope that these positive improvements lead to re-establishing commercial cooperation among business communities and improving and deepening trade and industrial collaborations between the two nations,” Shafei said.

tehran Chamber of Commerce president said he was very much hoping to see prosperity and progress in the area of economic arrangements between the two nations.

Shafei’s letter to the Chairman of the chairman of the Federation of Saudi Chambers (FSC) comes less than a month after Iranian and Saudi foreign ministers met in Beijing to discuss reopening diplomatic missions in both countries.

In a China-mediated deal earlier on March 10, top security officials from both countries agreed to restore relations after seven years of diplomatic hiatus.
